DUKA– Page 2– KATÓ family food traditions

The history of DUKA began when Hjalmar Blomqvist opened his first glass, porcelain and kitchenware store in Linköping, Sweden, in 1920. Thanks to his determination and hard work, the company grew, which led to new branches throughout Sweden. This laid the foundation for what DUKA is today.

When Bomqvist retired after many years, he sold his company to new owners who continued to develop it. Soon the company was well known throughout Sweden, valued for its high quality products and excellent customer service.

A turning point in the company's history came in 1962, when Hjalmar Blomqvist's former company merged with 16 other glass and porcelain stores to form the DUKA chain. The new company invested mainly in its own design, with excellent results, and some of the classics developed at that time continue to be sold today. Thanks to its unique design, excellent service and high quality, the DUKA brand became recognizable throughout Sweden, and its Scandinavian pedigree is still evident in all aspects of the company today.

In 1999, DUKA started operations in Warsaw, which is located in the heart of Europe and is ideal as the headquarters of a large company. The company is constantly looking for new development opportunities, establishes directions of expansion and does not stop, it goes with the times. The combination of many years of tradition with a modern approach allows us to respond flexibly to the new challenges posed by the 21st century.
